mighty fucking commander

Sunday morning, up with the lark I think I'll take a walk in the park Hey, hey, hey, it's a beautiful day

I've got someone waiting for me When I see her I know that she'll say Hey, hey, hey, it's a beautiful day

Hi, hi, hi, beautiful Sunday This is my, my, my, beautiful day When you say, say, say, say that you love me Oh, my, my, my it's a beautiful day

Birds are singing, you by my side Let's take a car and go for a ride Hey, hey, hey, it's a beautiful day We'll drive on and follow the sun Makin' Sunday go on and on Hey, hey, hey, it's a beautiful day

Hi, hi, hi, beautiful Sunday This is my, my, my, beautiful day When you say, say, say, say that you love me Oh, my, my, my, it's a beautiful day

Hi, hi, hi, beautiful Sunday This is my, my, my, beautiful day When you say, say, say, say that you love me Oh, my, my, my it's a beautiful day

The Tortoise 0.1 [15 Jul 2009|12:09pm]
Upcoming Military Robot Could Feed on Dead Bodies

It could be a combination of 19th-century mechanics, 21st-century technology — and a 20th-century horror movie.

A Maryland company under contract to the Pentagon is working on a steam-powered robot that would fuel itself by gobbling up whatever organic material it can find — grass, wood, old furniture, even dead bodies.

Robotic Technology Inc.'s Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot — that's right, "EATR" — "can find, ingest, and extract energy from biomass in the environment (and other organically-based energy sources), as well as use conventional and alternative fuels (such as gasoline, heavy fuel, kerosene, diesel, propane, coal, cooking oil, and solar) when suitable," reads the company's Web site.

That "biomass" and "other organically-based energy sources" wouldn't necessarily be limited to plant material — animal and human corpses contain plenty of energy, and they'd be plentiful in a war zone.

EATR will be powered by the Waste Heat Engine developed by Cyclone Power Technology of Pompano Beach, Fla., which uses an "external combustion chamber" burning up fuel to heat up water in a closed loop, generating electricity.

The advantages to the military are that the robot would be extremely flexible in fuel sources and could roam on its own for months, even years, without having to be refueled or serviced.

Upon the EATR platform, the Pentagon could build all sorts of things — a transport, an ambulance, a communications center, even a mobile gunship.

In press materials, Robotic Technology presents EATR as an essentially benign artificial creature that fills its belly through "foraging," despite the obvious military purpose.

We're going to get fitted for our tuxedos this evening. Fingers crossed for wing collars and french cuffs!

SMT: Devil Survivor was some of the most fun i've had with a game in awhile. I'm not often like to do it, but i actually played through it again once i finished for a different ending, instead of just reading about them on the internet. So cool..! Seriously though, it's pretty amazing.

Also: Neotokyo. It's very fun. It's also very hard, but mostly fun (and hard). I'll go play now!

So, after some considerable length of time i finally got a chance to play Flower, Sun and Rain. Not a lot, but enough to pretty much want to suck Suda51's dick. I hope they release The Silver Case, too, but all thing's considered it doesn't seem like FSR is being, uh...let's go with "appreciated". Alas.

Also, i picked up Devil Survivor today. I'll probably play through this first, only because i'm likely able to breeze through it while FSR remains somehow monolithic and decidedly elusive from a chewing standpoint. It will be a hard game to consume, is what i'm saying.

There's some other stuff, but who gives a fuck.

I was taking a shit earlier and thought about making a huge post singing the praises of Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2. Of course, i've long since forgotten everything i'd had in mind and frankly don't think i have it in me to laud much of anything at the moment. Suffice to say, the game is seriously fucking cool. Leaps and bounds cooler than Episode 1 (which was sweet on it's own merits). Anyway, if the following episodes are as drastic an improvement on the previous iteration as this one was, i expect great things.

Also: plz make an rpg based on Lookouts okay

PS: WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME FLOWER SUN & RAIN WAS SERIOUSLY FINALLY ALMOST OUT ALREADY WHAT

A couple of days ago i went out for some sushi with a buddy of mine and i had the Crazy Dragon Roll. Which is basically half of a fucking eel laid atop a spicy tuna roll with some delicious sauce drizzled over the top of it. By the way, eating an eel's tail is kind of weird.

Also, i think i forgot to mention that said buddy is getting married in August and asked me to be his best man. Did you know there's actually all kinds of shit you have to do as best man? Like, not just stand around and look slick? There's important shit involved!

[ music | Lady Gaga - Love Games ]

I want Lady Gaga to sit on my penis. By which i mean my dick.

By the way, i'm currently writing the script for a television pilot called "The Lion's Pride" which is a story about a young lion who because of his hubris is turned into a human boy by a sorcerer baboon. Now, he has to make his way in the "urban jungle" and earn the right to the granite throne.

Starring Seth Gingo as "Lionel King", Ian McShane as his father "Ryan King" and Christopher Lee as "Al-Kaldea Xibalba, the sorcerer baboon". Special guest Patton Oswalt stars as Lionel's old friend Boar Diddly in the episode "Boar Money, Boar Problems".
